Igor Butman will perform at UNESCO Headquarters

27th April 2012 at the headquarters of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO, pianist Herbie Hancock will open the first International Day of Jazz series of concerts, workshops and discussions. Along with jazz superstars Wynton Marsalis, Marcus Miller, Barbara Hendricks, Tania Maria, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Herbie Hancock in Paris at the invitation was Igor Butman. Holiday events at UNESCO in collaboration with Herbie Hancock initiate a series of music events. Around the world in the coming days Igor Butman official communique of the 36th Session of the UNESCO General Conference states: "Every day is to be April 30 to dedicate to emphasize the joy that the Jazz give as a unifying force, jazz proven that he is an effective tool for convergence.." The International Day of Jazz "is a factor of unity, dialogue and cooperation between the people, the unification with endless potential and possibilities. Many organizations now have a common popularization of jazz music, will take advantage of this opportunity to to a better understanding not only of the music contribute, but also their potential contribution to building a better society. International Jazz Day will be celebrated on April 30 every year, this date is not included in the list of the UN theme days, but judge with the celebration of the United States and other countries in April. as "Month of Jazz" (Jazz Appreciation Month)
